Introduction
GMO is a controversial issue - just because there are studies that can be bought, politicians that has been bought, media and what not.
Therefore - to avoid these controversial issues this presentation begins from the "other end":
1) Legal issues against the farmers
2) Whistle-blowers
3) How farmers are trapped
4) Criticism against GMO itself (and more HERE)
The first three is very easy to understand to anyone, even if the person is not a farmer or scientist - the pro-GMO crowd can't deny the facts, the courts or common botanics. It really does not matter "what GMO itself is", as people understand that "those who control food, controls us". That said, I want to emphasis that GMO is not something that is not dangerous - as we are the lab-rats as the products are only tested by the industry itself and e.g. Monsanto has not tested any product, before introducing it to the market, more than three months - and the authorities in USA takes their word for it.
And as you know; Everything that is a law in USA, is implemented as a international law, for some mystical reason.
Also all products that are accepted by the authorities in USA are lobbyed all over the world - with help of enormous sums of money.
But even this is just a scratch on the surface.
If you want to go to the bottom of this; watch one video every evening - make notes, look for contradictions etc.
Buy also DVDs and books, let your friends look into it as well, tell about your findings etc.

The critics
Not everyone appreciated GMO Myths and Truths. GMO lobbyists launched attacks against it in online forums. These people are online 24/7, defending GMOs. They criticize GMO Myths and Truths every time someone cites it in an article, blog, or online post. While we may be able to manage a couple of comments in response before we have to do our work or otherwise live our lives, the GMO lobbyists seem to have nothing else to do than defend GMOs and attack GMO critics again and again, for hours or days on end. Apart from their supernormal power of never having to sleep, the GMO lobbyists can be distinguished from ordinary people in that: ➜ There are few of them and their names or aliases pop up again and again under any article on GM published in a significant enough outlet. What normal person is interested in reading and commenting on so many articles on GM, and even in commenting on the comments, unless they are paid to do so? ➜ There is no learning curve. If normal people make a mistake and it is pointed out, they tend to engage with the challenging evidence or retire from the fray. The lobbyists don’t do either. Instead they change the subject or launch personal attacks. |
And further down (or up) the comments thread, they make the same discredited point over and over again, as if repeating the claim will somehow make it true – or at least, cause many readers to think it must be true.
➜ They all use the same industry talking points at the same time, sometimes for weeks or months, until the narrative of choice changes. Then they all change message as a unified chorus. At one time the line is “Golden rice will make the lame walk and the blind see”; at another it’s “GMO isn’t just Monsanto – let’s have more ‘public good’ GMOs, paid for out of public funds!” Seemingly there is no space for original thought in the pro-GMO lobby.
➜ They are often unpleasant, angry, and hostile. The lack of accuracy of these lobbyists is legendary. For instance, one gleefully wrote that “no one” was reading our “silly report”. It was hard to take this seriously, considering the online statistics – there were 120,000 complete downloads just weeks after publication, with hundreds of thousands more reading it online.

1) Legal issues against the farmers
Percy Schmeiser - David versus Monsanto
Imagine that a storm blows across your garden and that now, without your knowledge and without your consent, foreign and genetically-manipulated seeds are in your vegetable patch which you have nourished and maintained for many years. A few days later, representatives of a multi-national corporate group pay you a visit at home, demand that you surrender your vegetables - and simultaneously file a criminal complaint against you, resulting in a fine of € 20.000,00 for the illegal use of patented and genetically-manipulated seeds.
What's more: The court finds for the corporate group!
Yet you fight back...
This short story is no utopia rather, around the world, the bitter truth. It is also the true experience of the family of Percy and Louise Schmeiser in Canada, also winners of the Alternative Nobel Prize, who meanwhile have been fighting the chemicals and seed manufacturer Monsanto since 1996. Nowadays, nearly three-fourths of genetically-manipulated plants harvested worldwide originate from Monsanto labs. Monsanto is a U.S.-based corporate group which calls dismal inventions such as DDT, PCB and Agent Orange its own. In its effort to gain absolute hegemony over plants - from the field all the way to the consumer's plate - Monsanto knows no qualms.
The farmers Troy Rush, David Runyon and Marc Loisell also learned the hard way what it means to be confronted with Monsanto's methods of doing business, as did thousands of other farmers worldwide.
They and the Schmeisers are not just fighting against Monsanto and with that, for the continuation of their livelihood as farmers but also for the right to freedom of speech and the right to their property.
Yet above all, they are campaigning for the future of their children and grandchildren so that they, too, will have a chance to grow up in a world without genetically-manipulated food.

2) Whistle-blowers in the media
Monsanto & Cancer Milk: FOX News Kills Story & Fires Reporters
FOX NEWS Reporters (Reporters Steve Wilson & Jane Akre *** See below for more info on their status today) uncover that most of the Milk in the USA and across some parts of the world is unfit to drink due to Monsanto Corporation's POSILAC®, which has been proven to be a cancer-causing growth hormone, (known in short as "BGH" "BST" or "rBGH" ), but they were fired for attempting to inform people of the truth.
(Important note: After a long court battle, the Court dismissed the whistle blowers protection for the reporters because the Court stated that there was no law to force that the NEWS state the truth. NEWS was/is no different than other TV shows/reality shows.)
This is type of deceitful corruption is not just FOX news but includes almost all MSM (Main Stream Media).
Self researched, alternative news and information (from multiple sources) is one of the best methods to stay well informed.
Never trust or follow MSM/mega corporations such as Monsanto.
The corrupt FDA has once again turned it's back on the American public and has actually assisted in suppressing the dangers of this issue.
If you consumed or fed regular milk to your family today (8/21/08), there is more than a 90% chance that it was from a cow injected with BGH.
(Bovine somatotropin developed by using recombinant DNA technology).

Scientists under Attack: Science in the Magnetic Field of Money
Árpád Pusztai and Ignacio Chapela have two things in common: they are both distinguished scientists and their careers are now in ruins. Both issued warnings against the sale of genetically modified food and both are now suffering the fate of those who criticise such work which is often dominated by financial interests rather than the public good. Director Bertram Verhaag’s exposé paints a vivid picture of a scientific community in danger of losing its objectivity in the face of pressure from the commercial sector.
Take Árpád Pusztai - while working at the Rowett Research Institute in Scotland, he conducted a series of experiments using rats in order to determine the long-term effects of GM food. His findings were shocking. The animals suffered from decreased mental capacity, shrunken genitalia and severely compromised immune systems. Having verified his findings, he published a damning paper which for two days made him a hero in the scientific community. Then U.K Prime Minster Tony Blair allegedly called the head of the institute and Pusztai was sacked after 30 years of distinguished service.
Pusztai watched in horror as his cowed colleagues began to publish placatory paper after placatory paper in order to soften the impact of the politically damaging story.
Legislation allowing GM food to be developed and sold was duly passed worldwide.
As a consequence, huge corporations like Monsanto, whose pesticides cover a large proportion of the Unites States’ agricultural production, are being allowed to subject us to products whose effects have not been fully tested, or have even been found to be harmful.
Scientists under Attack: Science in the Magnetic Field of Money persuasively argues that the future of scientific freedom is under threat. Today, 95% of research into genetic engineering is paid for by industry interests and objectivity, supposedly the very core of scientific discipline, is a likely casualty.

Reviews
Excerpt of GM Watch.org: “Pusztai found that the internal organs of rats fed GM insecticidal potatoes either increased in size or did not develop properly compared with controls. His experiments turned up no less than 36 significant differences between GM-fed and non-GM-fed animals. Pusztai, encouraged by his research institute, gave a 150-second interview on British TV in which he summarised his findings and said it was unfair to use our fellow citizens as guinea pigs for GM foods. For two days, Pusztai was treated as a hero by his institute. But following a phone call from UK prime minister Tony Blair to the institute's head, Pusztai was fired and gagged under threat of a lawsuit. His research team was disbanded and his data were confiscated. Lies were circulated about his research that he could not counter due to the gagging order, lifted only later when he was due to appear before a Parliamentary Committee. For Pusztai’s co-researchers, the gagging order remains in place for life." Read the whole review HERE. |

3) How farmers are trapped
Farmers Speak Out:
GMOs are a Trap That Monsanto is Using to Take Over Agriculture (Originally: Farmer to Farmer: The Truth About GM Crops)
GMOs are a Trap That Monsanto is Using to Take Over Agriculture (Originally: Farmer to Farmer: The Truth About GM Crops)
(NaturalNews) Most Americans have no idea just how pervasive genetically-modified organisms (GMO) have become throughout the food supply. Predatory marketing practices have lured many farmers into converting over to GMOs, and craftily-designed, proprietary growing systems have kept them there. Meanwhile, multinational biotechnology companies like Monsanto effectively seize the reigns of agriculture and dictate how it will proceed from here.
In the short, but highly informative, documentary Farmer to Farmer: The Truth About GM Crops, family farmer Michael Hart interviews a number of farmers in the US about their experiences growing GM crops. He also asks them whether or not they would recommend GM crop systems to other farmers, particularly those in the UK and Europe that are currently being pushed to adopt them.
Hart discovers, of course, that GM crops are not all that Monsanto toots them to be. Besides failing to improve crop yields, GM crops require increasingly more pesticide and herbicide applications in order to remain viable. And out of control "superweeds;" escalating prices for seeds, pesticides, and herbicides; and the non-reality of coexistence between GM and non-GM crops are among the many additional problems farmers are facing -- and unfortunately, viable solutions to these problems are largely non-existent.
Monsanto's goal is to convert everybody to Roundup Ready crops, buy out all the seed companies, and control the agriculture market
We frequently cover the topic of GMOs here at NaturalNews -- exposing both the schemes employed to implement them around the world and the political gerrymandering taking place in nations like the US and Canada that keeps them unlabeled and ensures they maintain a strong and ever-increasing foothold in agriculture. And Monsanto's endgame, of course, is to control the entirety of agriculture.
Monsanto's strategy with GMOs is a long-term one, and one that has crept in largely unaware throughout the years. According to the latest figures, Monsanto's GM crops now blanket over 330 million US acres. Ninety-three percent of soybeans grown in the US are GM, and 77 percent of soybeans worldwide are GM. Most US corn, cotton, and canola is also GM (http://www.gmo-compass.org/eng/agri_biotechn...).
So how did things get this way? In the early 1990s when GMOs were first being introduced in the US, Monsanto and others convinced farmers to adopt them by promising that crop yields would increase, that less pesticides and herbicides would be needed to grow them, and that overall costs to farmers would ultimately decrease. More than a decade later, farmers are now revealing that all of this was a lie.
"The first few years it'll be cheap and economical," said Joe (a farmer who wished to remain anonymous for his own protection) to Hart concerning farmers switching to GM crop systems. "Once everybody is switched to it, you'll lose your choices, you'll no longer have a choice to raise conventional products ... and you'll get yourself into a trap where you're paying royalty fees to companies that own traits and chemicals, and they'll continue to raise those fees every year."
And this is precisely the case with every farmer interviewed in Farmer to Farmer. Adopting GMOs seemed to make sense in the beginning. But after a critical mass of farmers made the switch, Monsanto began to raise prices for seed and pesticides, to buy up seed companies, and even to control GM farmers' ability to mix their own chemicals and save their own non-GM seeds -- and the end result was a widespread loss of agricultural freedom among American farmers.
Monsanto has made it virtually impossible for GM farmers to switch back to non-GM cropsSo why don't farmers who recognize the failure of GM crops simply switch back to non-GM crops? The complex system Monsanto has built makes doing so a near impossibility. Between buying up seed companies and making non-GM seeds difficult to obtain, and cornering the market on pesticides and herbicides and the research that goes into them, most farmers simply have no choice but to continue planting GM crops. And when their non-GM crops become contaminated with GM traits, any non-GM endeavors are ruined.
"The last years that I was growing conventional soybeans ... our beans kept becoming more and more contaminated," said Rodney Nelson, a GM sugar beet and soybean grower from North Dakota, concerning his efforts to grow non-GM soybeans. "It was getting down to the point where about 50 percent of our loads were being rejected because of contamination, and we couldn't buy seed that was pure without contamination."
"On top of that, the conventional seed no longer was cheap. The seed companies (many of which are now owned by Monsanto or other Big Ag companies, as NaturalNews recently reported) ... simply hiked the price on their conventional seed, and then when they sold you the seed, it came with a clause the even though its conventional, it's not patented, you couldn't save and replant it ... we didn't have any choice but to go back and start planting Roundup Ready crops. There was no choice, that was the only choice."
Apart from switching to organic, which would take many years of preparation just to get the fields up to organic standards, most GM farmers today have no choice but to continue growing GM crops. As long as the US government continues to provide patent protection for GM crops, as well as allow monopoly control over the seed market by biotechnology companies, many American farmers will simply have to remain in the clutches of Monsanto to stay afloat.
Be sure to check out this entire Farmer to Farmer documentary to learn the dirty truth behind GM crops, and why it is absolutely vital to do everything possible to eliminate patent protection for living organisms and to end corporate control over the food supply.

10 Years of Failure, Farmers Deceived by GM Corn
The film entitled "10 Years of Failure, Farmers Deceived by GM corn" shows the dire situation of corn farmers in the Philippines who have adopted GM corn. Amidst protests from farmers, scientists, consumers and basic sectors, GM corn was commercialized in the Philippines in 2003. At present, there are about 8 varieties of single, stacked-trait and pyramided GM corn approved by the government for direct planting. It is now planted in about 685,317 hectares of agricultural land allotted for corn.
The film documentary is based on the study done by MASIPAG on the socio-economic impacts of GM corn on farmers' lives and livelihood after more than 10 years of commercialization. In the film, GM corn farmers relate how they became indebted because of the rising cost of GM corn seeds and increasing cost and quantity of inputs being used. The film also shared the farmers account on the effect of GM corn farming such as emergence of new pests, soil erosion, corn contamination and human and animal health impacts. Farmers also shared the difficulty to go back to traditional or organic corn farming because of the loss of traditional seeds and practices replaced by GM corn farming and the effects of neighboring GM corn plantations. The film documentary covers the islands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

11 Steps to Avoid GE Contamination
11 Steps to Avoid GE Contamination
“Organic Farmers Must Do These 11 Things Just to Prevent Being Contaminated (and Sued),” recently posted on AltHealth Network, summarizes the principles elaborated on in OSGATA’s Protecting Organic Seed Integrity: The Organic Farmer’s Handbook to GE Avoidance and Testing.
Supplemented by an interview with OSGATA President and Maine-based organic seed farmer Jim Gerritsen, the full article offers these 11 tenants for farmers to follow:
1. Identify At-Risk Crops and Potential Points of Contamination.
2. Create a Buffer on Your Side of the Fence.
3. Test Any At-Risk Seed Prior to Planting.
4. Delay Plantings.
5. Implement an Individualized Testing Plan Based on Scale and Pre-Determined Contamination Thresholds.
6. Use Scale-Appropriate Sampling Methods to Collect a Representative Sample of the Largest Number of Seeds Acceptable to Your Operation.
7. Work with a Trusted Lab to Determine Which PCR Test is Best for Your Situation.
8. Understand the Potential for Gene Flow and Avoid Renting Pollinators That Have Been Used in Proximity to GM Fields.
9. As Appropriate, Implement Isolation Distances When Planting. Plan Isolations for Time as Well as Space if Possible.
10. Control Any Volunteers, Feral Populations, and/or Wild Relative (Plants) in Proximity to Fields.
11. Avoid Mixing During Harvest, Cleaning, Storage, Transport, and Sales. Clean All Equipment and Facilities Prior to Use.

"US Farmers abandoning GMOs on simple economics
Modern Farmer magazine discovered a movement among farmers abandoning GMOs in the United States, not for any other reason than simple economics [49]. Crop consultant and farmer Aaron Bloom said of non-GMO seeds, “We get the same or better yields, and we save money up front.” Bloom has been experimenting with non-GMO seeds for five years and discovered they are more profitable.
Farmers can get paid more for conventional corn, and as reconvert farmer Christ Huegerich discovered, conventional corn can produce more per acre. Two years ago, Huegerich planted 320 acres of conventional corn and 1 700 acres with GMO corn. The conventional fields yielded 15 to 30 more bushels per acre with a profit margin of up to $100 per acre. Last year, he planted conventional corn in 750 acres; he gets 50 cents per bushel premium for non GMO corn. The group Farm & Water Watch reported that 61.2 million acres of cropland in the US are plagued by weeds resistant to glyphosate.
The economics of reconverting to non-GMO is easily summed up.

The economics of reconverting to non-GMO is easily summed up.
- Growing one acre of non-GMO corn cost $680.95, compared to $761.80 for an acre of GMO corn according to Bloom, i.e., $80.85 more an acre for GMO corn.
GMO seeds can cost up to $150 a bag more than regular seeds. - The market for non-GMO foods has grown from $1.3 billion in 2011 to $3.1 billion in 2013, partly because some Asian and European countries don’t want GMO seeds.
- Grain dealer Clarkson Grain pays farmers an extra $2 a bushel for non-GMO soybeans and an additional $1 a bushel for non-GMO corn.
- The market for non-GMO seed is growing. Sales at Spectrum Seed Solutions, which sells non-GMO seed, have doubled every year for the last four years. Sales at another company that markets non-GMO seeds, eMerge Genetics of West Des Moines, Iowa, have increased by 30 % a year for five years.
- Spectrum Seed Solutions president Scott Odle predicts non-GMO corn could be 20 % of the market in five years.
4) Criticism against GMO itself
F. William Engdahl in an interview based on his book "Seeds of Destruction - The Hidden Agenda of Genetic Manipulation".
F. William Engdahl talks about the original idea behind GMOs, the eugenics involvement in the development of GMOs, about Bill Gates involvement in Monsanto and about what power the individual may have in the example "March against Monsanto" which was started by an angry housewife in U.S. and spread worldwide.
Genetic Roulette, the Gamble of our Lives
(How GMOs are manufactured)
(How GMOs are manufactured)
GMOs are made by manipulation of extremely deadly viruses & bacteria (such as E. coli) that have been engineered to be IMMUNE TO ANTIBIOTICS. Monsanto spends millions of dollars each year in order to "sugar" coat the facts of what GMOs actually are and more importantly, how they are made.
This video straight-forwardly explains the scientific facts on how Monsanto manufactures their GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) by simply removing all the corporate propaganda, the "smoke & mirrors" if you will.
Monsanto's greed, combined with their quest to monopolize all aspects of food & seed on the planet, has knowingly allowed the proverbial Reaper free upon the world.
GMOs are now acting much like the deadly virus and pre-cancer type cells they are made from... by infecting other organisms that were once pure and healthy.

"These are the products (and their derivatives) that are most likely to be genetically modified:
- Soybeans — Gene taken from bacteria (Agrobacterium sp. strain CP4) and inserted into soybeans to make them more resistant to herbicides.[1] See How to Live With a Soy Allergy for more information on avoiding soy products.
- Corn — There are two main varieties of GE corn. One has a gene from the soil bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis inserted to produce the Bt toxin, which poisons Lepidoteran pests (moths and butterflies).[2] There are also several things that are resistant to various herbicides present in high fructose corn syrup and glucose/fructose, prevalent in a wide variety of foods in America.
- Rapeseed/Canola — Gene added/transferred to make the crop more resistant to herbicide.
- Sugar beets — Gene added/transferred to make crop more resistant to Monsanto's Roundup herbicide.
- Cotton — engineered to produce Bt toxin. The seeds are pressed into cottonseed oil, a common ingredient in vegetable oil and margarine.
- Dairy — Cows injected with GE hormone rBGH/rBST; possibly fed GM grains and hay.
- Sugar In 2012, the FDA approved the sale of GMO beet sugars under the name "SUGAR." So now, when we go to buy "All Natural" Breyers ice cream, we can't even know for sure that we are actually eating regular, natural cane sugar. If you see "CANE SUGAR," there's a good chance it's not GMO. This is one of the biggest frustrations with labeling, as sugar is in so many things, and we might think we're avoiding food that POSSIBLY has GMO sugar, but we're really not.
- Papayas
- Zucchini
- Corn sold directly to the consumer at roadside stands/markets. Buy only organic corn, popcorn, and corn chips.
- Baked goods often have one or more of the common GM ingredients. Why do we need corn or soy in our bread, snacks, and desserts? It's hard to find mixes to use as well. Some brands avoid GMOs; find those you like and try to stick with them. Organic is one option; learning how to cook brownies, etc., from scratch with your own organic oils is another."
"GMO OMG"-documentary on Chemical Food Conspiracy (English - Spanish)
Documentary by Jeremy Seifert, 2013, USA
https://www.facebook.com/gmoomgfilm Today in the United States, by the simple acts of feeding ourselves, we are unwittingly participating in the largest experiment ever conducted on human beings. Each of us unknowingly consumes genetically engineered food on a daily basis. The risks and effects to our health and the environment are largely unknown. Yet more and more studies are being conducted around the world, which only provide even more reason for concern. We are the oblivious guinea pigs for wide-scale experimentation of modern biotechnology. |
GMO OMG tells the story of a father's discovery of GMOs in relationship to his three young children and the world around him. We still have time to heal the planet, feed the world, and live sustainably. But we have to start now!

"GMO OMG"-documentary on Chemical Food Conspiracy with Jeremy Seifert
GMO OMG is the documentary about GMO foods and the truth about the food industry, and filmmaker Jeremy Seifert chronicles his story as a dad on a mission to uncover the truth about
about genetically modified foods and how the loss of seed diversity and laboratory assisted genetic alteration of food affects his young children, the health of our planet, and freedom of choice everywhere. Clips and stories from the film are shared with Ondi Timoner of BYOD.
GUEST INFO:
In 2010, Jeremy completed his debut film, DIVE!, Living Off America's Waste. Initially made with a $200 budget, a borrowed camera, and a lot of heart, DIVE! went on to win 22 film festivals worldwide. In 2010 with the release of DIVE!, Jeremy began the production company, Compeller Pictures. He is now a filmmaker and activist, traveling the country and speaking on humanitarian and environmental issues. Jeremy's second film, GMO OMG, tells the hidden story of the take over of our food supply by giant chemical companies, an agricultural crisis that has grown into a cultural crisis.

Seeds Of Death
Obama signs Monsanto Protection Act! It's Time to Label GMOs! We regret to inform you that President Barack Obama has signed H.R. 933, which contained the Monsanto Protection Act, into law. President Obama knowingly signed the Monsanto Protection Act over the urgent pleas of more than 250,000 Americans who asked that he use his executive authority to veto it.
Today we're calling on President Obama to issue an executive order to call for the mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods. Not only is GMO labeling a reasonable and common sense solution to the continued controversy that corporations like Monsanto, DuPont and Dow Chemical have created by subverting our basic democratic rights, but it is a basic right that citizens in 62 other countries around the world already enjoy, including Europe, Russia, China, India, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
Join us in demanding mandatory labeling of GMO foods. Now's the time!

Seeds Of Death is a Gary Null Production all rights belong to him. The truth belongs to all of us!
The leaders of Big Agriculture--Monsanto, DuPont, Syngenta--are determined that world's populations remain ignorant about the serious health and environmental risks of genetically modified crops and industrial agriculture. Deep layers of deception and corruption underlie both the science favoring GMOs and the corporations and governments supporting them.
This award-winning documentary, Seeds of Death, exposes the lies about GMOs and pulls back the curtains to witness our planet's future if Big Agriculture's new green revolution becomes our dominant food supply.
